LIKE HIM OR HATE HIM, HE IS NOT A DEAD GOAT NOR YENTIE OBIA PRESIDENT

Few days ago on a radio station in Cape Coast, President Akufo-Addo was asked about a comment made by the Vice President during the campaign launch of the NPP about the intention of the NPP government to construct a harbor and an airport at Cape Coast.

The President responded that the NPP did not promise the people of Cape Coast a harbor and went further to refer Ghanaians to page 88 (promise number 207) of the 2020 manifesto of the NPP where it was clearly stated that Cape coast will be given a landing site.

Prior to this, the President was previously asked on ATL radio in Cape coast about the call for a harbor and an airport at Cape Coast and he stated that a needs assessment will have to be done before Cape Coast can be given such projects.

Since then, the issue kept resurfacing and became a topic for discussion in the media. Given another opportunity to address the issue on Peace FM this morning, President Akufo-Addo had the following to tell Ghanaians and the people of Cape Coast. 👇

"Let me confess, I made a mistake on the Cape Coast. Even with the mistake, we have to have a rethink. We cannot have a harbor at Takoradi and Elimina and have another one at Cape Coast. But I have to apologize to the people of Cape Coast. Presidents are humans and they can make mistakes"

In contrast, when Ghanaian graduates were complaining about their plight after the imposition of the embargo on employment, John Dramani Mahama said he was not a magician to put money in their pockets. Again, John Dramani Mahama says he was unperturbed by the series of demonstrations and agitations against his administration; and like the proverbial dead goat, he was not afraid of death.

So, like him or hate him, President Akufo-Addo has proven to be human and does not hesitate to apologize even when he is not wrong. He is definitely a living goat who also listens.
