President John Dramani Mahama served as Vice President of Ghana from January 2009 to July 2012, and took office as President on 24 July 2012 following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills and was subsequently elected substantive President between 2013 to 2016. Former President Mahama was personally probed for involving himself in the following corruption scandals: 1. EMBRAER 190 AIRCRAFT SCANDAL On the 12th October 2012, Martin Amidu, former Attorney General under the Mills administration and “Citizen Vigilante” revealed that, the late President Mills set up a Committee of Enquiry to investigate the acquisition of aircraft for the Armed Forces negotiated by President John Mahama. 1.
