TOPIC INTRO Henry Kokofu is the CEO for EPA. Speaking on Peace FM’s ”Kokrokoo” Friday morning, Henry Kokofu noted that a lot of people are not using fuel productively and this negatively impacts the petroleum sector. He, therefore, advised vehicle owners and drivers in the country to conserve fuel by being economical in its usage. Citing some of the things he would have Ghanaians to either stop or check, he stated that it’s not all the time that people should drive to every place, and that urged car owners or drivers to sometimes park their cars and just walk. By the year 2016, the NDC had gone to seek Policy Credibility at the IMF. They returned with harsh policies including the placement of embargo on public sector employment and Ghana was building a backlog of unemployed graduates. There was a ban on the recruitment of Teachers, Nurses, and Graduates from the Polytechnics and Universities. Eventually, an Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana was formed. The teaming unemployed graduates soon hit the streets in protest against the embargo on their lives and destinies. In response, the then President indicated he was not a magician to create jobs nor put monies in their pockets. Working for an hour became a job and the solution was for graduates to cut grasses and gather stones. Unemployment had reached unprecedented levels. Millions of Ghanaian graduates wake up each day to the soul-destroying reality of joblessness and they spend their energies looking for non-existent jobs. Education was no longer the key to success. FREE SHS

Free SHS policy is a policy of the government of Ghana, starting in September 2017 where every child in Ghana who qualifies for, and is placed in a public Senior High School for his secondary education will have his/her fees absorbed by the government. The policy's origination began as part of the President's presidential campaign during Ghana's 2016 election period. The policy has three core themes: access, equity and equality. Free education is in line with Article 25 1b of the 1992 Constitution which states that “Secondary education in its different forms including technical and vocational education, shall be made generally available and accessible to all by every appropriate means, and in particular, by the progressive introduction of free education”. Akufo-Addo's recruitment record in the health sector

The Akufo-Addo Government has so far recruited 120,367 Health Professionals. The Highest in the Nation's History. Breakdown: 1. As at July 2020, the Government had recruited ninety thousand, six hundred and ninety-six (90,696) healthcare workers.  2. In April 2021, the Government again recruited 18445 health professionals (mostly Degree and Diploma nurses). Adding this figures, Government would have recruited 109, 141 health professionals since 2017. 3. Government has again given clearance for the recruitment of 11, 226 degree and diploma nurses. When you add that to 109,141 already recruited, the government would have recruited 120,367 health professionals.  4. This figure excludes the recruitment done by the Ambulance service. NPP Government to Construct Nine Model Senior High Schools

The NPP government under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo has set out to construct nine (9) model STEM schools across the country.  The model senior high schools comprises the construction of seven (7) new Senior High Schools and the upgrading of two (2) existing schools, making a total of nine (9) schools. Seven (7) out of the nine (9) schools are proposed science focused schools, with the other two being the first ever Creative Arts School and a Senior High Technical School. The science schools are being built at Akrodie in the Ahafo Region, Weija in the Greater Accra Region, Awaso in the Western Region, Kpasenkpe in the North East Region and Abomosu in the Eastern Region. Facilities at each school include Administration block, Creative Arts/Science block, dormitory blocks, dining hall with kitchen, staff accommodation, library block, recreational facilities, laboratories, roads and external works and a service and maintenance shed.
